Vintage Late 1980s 5150 Snowboard

Vintage Late 1980s American Made 5150 Snowboard With 5150 Bindings Rare Board in Fine Condition Background Information It has proven difficult to find detailed information about early 5150 Snowboards.  The company was bought out by Ride Snowboards in 1994, which is a testament to their quality, at least up until that point.  Ride was assimilated by K2 a few years later. The 5150 brand was allowed to remain at least somewhat autonomously well into the 2010s.  At archive.org you can view their website over the years: it was always simple with just a few products listed, no company information , no fancy HTML and no online sales.  Their manufacturing moved from WA state to China when K2 began manufacturing there in the early 2000s, Online reviews are mixed in recent years, but one thing is certain: 5150 made innovative quality boards, in the US< for at least a few years....well enough for Ride to want to acquire them.  The board offered here is from that era.  Having no graphics we suspect that it is a very early model, or perhaps a manufacturing or engineering prototype or demo. Specifications 5150 Snowboard Made in the USA 148cjm length 260mm width at the waist 289mm width at both the nose and tail Color: Blue Graphics: none besides a company insignia on the base Binding Holes are 4cm x 4cm 6 pairs to a boot. Bindings: 5150, two strap without highback support Metal Edges and Endcaps. Camber: TBD Condtion This board appears to have been ridden just a few times.  There is no serious damage.  The visible wear includes normal edge dings, minor base scrapes and scratches which would easily be remedied with P-Tex.  The top has very little wear.  Ditto for the bindings and mounts.   The board could use a waxing, and edge filing/sharpening. But we are not experts so we provide many closeup photos so the you can judge condition for yourself.
