2023 Smith Squad goggles with interchangeable lens. A number of goggles delivered to our shop arrived featuring a manufacturer defect. The silicone banding found on the inside of the headband was improperly made resulting in said banding never ‘setting’ or ‘curing’.
To remedy this minor complication I used a 70/30 alcohol/water solution and cotton work rag to dissolve and remove the ever sticky residue from the headband. Any remaining bits of failed silicone were gently scraped from the elastic inside of the band before letting dry.
With the defective banding agent removed these and several other types of Smith gogs are in stellar shape and ready for use on the slopes.
