Selling my personal collection of vintage North Face pieces. Rare jacket from the original North Face 90's rage collection.
Sturdy canvas like material on the outside. All vintage Rage jackets were lined in Ultrex, which unlike Gore-tex, will decompose and flake off as it ages. This usually becomes a headache of never ending white flakes inside your jacket. To fix, I opened up the jacket, scrubbed off every inch of the white flakes, and then re-seam sealed it with professional grade tape. Last, I sewed back the opening using the original holes and you can’t tell. See the 2nd to last photo for what the inside lining looked like before I turned it back inside out and sewed it up. No more flaking.
The jacket is no longer waterproof, but almost no vintage ultrex jackets are anymore because the white flakes were the waterproofing material. However, it is still water resistant. I've recoated it with a fresh layer of Nikwax waterproofing and will include instructions for maintaining it.
This jacket is truly ready to wear and in amazing condition. The price is higher because it took me 16 hours to fix this up and do the seam sealing, not to mention the cost of the seam sealing material. Probably will never do the seam sealing again because of how long it takes to do it right. Amazing one of a kind condition. Smoke pet free home.
