The recycled nylon shell is treated with PFC-free DWR for a water-repellent layer to protect the loft of that premium down, making it a great outer layer to wear around town, at the campsite, and on the mountain. It also wears well as a mid-layer for backcountry adventures, fitting comfortably under a shell and packing down into its zippered chest pocket to stuff in our pack until we need its lightweight warmth.
