This vintage Burton snowboard is a rare find from the 1993 X Series. Measuring at 148cm, this asymmetrical twin board is perfect for all-mountain use. The blue color and big Burton logo give it a standout look. Bindings are not included with this item. It is a great addition to any snowboarding collection and is suitable for both men and women. The Burton Asym Air or ‘X Series’ featured asymmetric design. Instead of the standard symmetrical design, the asym’s were offset. If you don’t know what this means, imagine cutting a board in half horizontally. Then if you were natual footed, you would slide the toeside half forward and the heelside back and rejoin (opposite applies if you were goofy). Because you stand on your board at an angle, the asymmetry would in theory give you a truer edge hold. The asym design was widely used in hard boot racing technology in the early nineties. The idea of integrating this design into freestyle snowboards was to give them improved carving ability and create a versatile freeride model. The Asym Air ran from 92 through to 95. It then briefly became the Twiseted before board designers saw sense.
